Most
anywhere you go at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center,
volunteers are there lending a hand—assisting
in registration, selling flowers and gifts for loved
ones, comforting relatives in the Emergency Department
(ED), and more. Ever thought about joining them?
“We’re always looking
for volunteers,” says Berkeley audiologist Linda
Peltz, M.A., whose self-described “labor of love”
is her volunteer work as Co-Chair of the Foundation’s
Celebrity Classic and Vice Chair of our Board of Trustees.
“Volunteers make a difference—and they have
fun, make friends, and get a new perspective on life,”
adds Peltz, who was the Foundation’s 2002 Volunteer
Fundraiser of the Year.
“I now have a greater picture of what’s
going on in the hospital and a much better insight of
where things are needed.”
If you’re interested in volunteering
at the Medical Center (the gift shops at the Ashby Campus
and ED especially need help), contact the Volunteer
Office at (510) 204-1698. You—and we—will
be glad you did.
