Alta Bates Summit Foundation is Proud to Present the

The 8th Annual Thunder Road Crab Feast took place on February 4, 2006 at the Marina Community Center in San Leandro. . .and was a stunning success.

This year the theme was Valentines and we were definitely feeling the love! More than 325 revelers came down to the San Leandro Community Center to support Thunder Road and to feast on – as one diner said, “the best darned crab dinner around!”

Bob Sarlatte was MC of the event and helped keep the program light and lively. Thunder Road administrator Tom Gerstel honored Alameda County Office of Education superintendent, Sheila Jordan, as well as East Bay Nation of Men member Don Healy; and Armando Corpus honored retiring Thunder Road employee Nora Carter. By far however, the most exciting feature of the evening was the Thunder Road client trapeze performance, which brought the crowd to its feet.

The live “nothing for something” auction was a winner, as was the silent auction. All together, the 8th Annual Crab Feast garnered more donations than ever before, and will go a long way toward helping Thunder Road help youth.

Programs like these would not exist without the generosity of donors, volunteers, and other vital members of our community. Everyone at Thunder Road thanks those who attended the Crab Feast, the East Bay Nation of Men, and all others who support these integral programs.

Save the date: the 9th Annual Thunder Road Crab Feast will be held February 10, 2007 at the Marina Community Center in San Leandro. We hope to see you there!
