In October of 2003, many in the Bay Area were touched by the death of KTVU reporter, Oakland resident and breast health advocate, Faith Fancher. After a long and valiant fight, Faith died of breast cancer. Many who knew and loved her are joining forces to celebrate her life and honor her memory.
While we wait for the eventual cure for breast cancer, community leaders from the Friends of Faith, ACE-IT at Orindawoods Tennis Club, Scott's Seafood Restaurant, Cancer League of the East Bay, and others have come together. Their focus is to expand and enhance services for breast cancer patients and their families receiving services at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center.
Through the generosity of Scott's Seafood Restaurant in Oakland, the “Leap of Faith” event, a benefit for the new Breast Health Center at Alta Bates Summit, is being held June 1, 2006. At this event, the third annual “Leap of Faith Award” will be presented. All net proceeds from this annual event will help fund a “Patient Navigator,” a designated Alta Bates Summit employee who will work with newly diagnosed breast cancer patients and their families.
Please join us by sponsoring and attending this worthy event!
